What the author meant was probably about maintaining your weight even in long cardio sessions, so that you only use the carbs you consumed and not the previously stored fats. Otherwise fat-burning is the only way to lose weight. Either by less calories consumed or by more calories burnt.

That is not true, exercise every day is very good. What is not good is too much exercise dally is not good
