Chonburi [Thailand], August 30: TotalEnergies ENEOS celebrated the successful installation of two solar rooftop systems totaling 2 megawatt-peak (MWp) at NTN Corporation (NTN) and NTPT Company Limited’s (NTPT) prominent plants in the Pinthong industrial area, Chonburi Province, Thailand.

With about 3,450 modules installed, the solar PV systems will generate approximately 2,700 megawatt-hours (MWh) of renewable electricity annually and powering approximately 15% of each facility. This contributes to significant cost savings for NTN and NTPT and reducing both companies’ carbon emissions by about 1,620 tons of CO2 emissions annually, equivalent to taking approximately 350 cars off the road or planting over 24,300 trees.

Under the long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), TotalEnergies ENEOS fully funded, installed, and will be operating the solar systems for the next 20 years, NTN and NTPT are only required to pay for the electricity produced without any additional upfront costs.

“On behalf of NTN Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd., I would like to sincerely thank TotalEnergies ENEOS for their dedication in the successful construction and installation of the solar rooftop system. TotalEnergies ENEOS has demonstrated their expertise, knowledge, and best practices throughout our project, adhering to high industry standards. The project was delivered ahead of schedule, which not only met but exceeded our expectations. This significantly advances our commitment to clean energy and a greener environment, making an important contribution towards our sustainability goals”, said Mr. Likhit Khamhom, Manufacturing Engineer Manager of NTN Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd.

“It is a privilege to work with NTN and NTPT on their solar rooftop projects, helping them to advance their sustainability goals. The successful completion of these emblematic projects demonstrates our commitment to providing competitive and sustainable solutions for our customers. It also further reinforces our position as a leader in the distributed generation solution in APAC. We look forward to supporting more industrial customers in their journey towards decarbonization”, said Elodie Renaud, Director of TotalEnergies ENEOS Renewables Distributed Generation Asia.

NTN is one of the world’s leading designers, developers, and manufacturers of bearings, linear modules, constant velocity joints, encoders, tensioners, vehicle spare parts, maintenance products, and servicing solutions. NTN is present in all industrial, automotive and aerospace markets. Associated with NTPT, a joint venture with highly advanced technology manufacturer Takao Kogyo Co., Ltd., is located at the same site. Both plants are pivotal in supplying the regional industry with semi-finished automotive products.
