More worrisome than the negative outlook on the Indian economy by Moody’s is its grim forecast that the slowdown may last long in the absence of reforms. The knee-jerk, band-aid measures announced by the Modi government so far have not inspired investor confidence. What is required is transformative structural reform.
Timing of cancelling Aatish Taseer’s OCI card vindictive. His father’s identity is well-known
The timing of the revocation of author Aatish Taseer’s OCI status is curious and vindictive. His father Salman Taseer’s identity is well-known. Aatish even wrote a book on it. His OCI application is several years old, but Modi government chose to cancel it after his critical Time magazine article.
If it takes a crisis for India to reform, one fears that stage too is not very far off.
Mr Aatish Taseer is a citizen of the world. A man of integrity and intellect. In happier times, an ambassador for all that is good on the subcontinent, which would normally mean India most of the time, Pakistan only occasionally. What he says, writes even more so, influences global opinion more than the MEA’s XPD, which has been having an especially torrid time recently. Difficult to applaud the decision.
He may be whatever you say but that does not entitle him to get OCI.
Get lost ashok. You seem to be the semi literate Congress IT cell worker.
