Rhea Chakraborty deserved bail in the drugs case and it’s reassuring to note the Bombay High Court virtually trashed all charges against her while granting it. The order is a strong rap on the knuckles of NCB. And well-deserved, because its charges against Rhea were a mockery of law.

Supreme Court’s Shaheen Bagh judgment is right to call for a fine balance between the right to protest and blocking public space. It’s also a strong indictment of Delhi and central governments that failed to engage with anti-CAA protesters. It isn’t the court’s job to tackle protests in a democracy.
