IAF chief tells HAL he’s ‘just not confident’ in its capability. His exasperation comes from IAF’s diminishing inventory and being a captive customer of a sluggish state monopoly. No competition has led to HAL failing India’s aspirations. IAF hopes derision will stun HAL out of its slumber. We aren’t convinced. 

Punjab model shouldn’t be about replicating Delhi’s disastrous freebie economics

Arvind Kejriwal’s plan to develop Punjab model of governance is rather ambitious. Bhagwant Mann government’s track record inspires little confidence. Any attempt to replicate discredited freebies-centred Delhi model in debt-ridden Punjab will be disastrous. If Kejriwal wants to fix Punjab’s broken economy, he must start with dismantling expansive subsidy regime.
