Former US President Barack Obama’s appraisal of ‘unformed’ Rahul Gandhi may be candid and undiplomatic but no revelation. Obama has only given a scholar’s perspective to what voters have expressed election after election. Congressmen’s outrage is predictable but phoney and self-serving. An honest introspection on Gandhi’s leadership is what’s needed.

The Gandhi family is now an albatross around congress’s neck. Congress or some form of it is still needed as a pan national liberal opposition platform, but it can’t be hobbled by the Gandhis.High time a core group of leaders decide to branch out with Congress Nxt and chart their own path. Yes their path to power won’t be clear, but that situation will be still better than the current Congress as likely these leaders likely won’t find time for a holiday in Shimla in the midst of elections.
True, Just hope, somebody in INC has the heart to do this. Voters want a pan India opposition party sans Gandhis
Obama’s appraisal of Rahul is no revelation, Congressmen’s outrage phoney and self-serving, what about the liberal intellectual media ? They have not painted themselves in glory either.
Why fret about “liberals”. Let them be. They can’t do great harm. Some mischief, yes. Which liberal has really influenced anything with telling effect India.
We can live with them. They can’t do much harm except talk……and some times write. Occasionally they throw up some good ideas too. They are essential for Nation building.
But we can do without some “leaders” who we know are shallow and ineffective.
