NEET-UG exams will continue to be conducted in pen-and-paper mode this year too. The National Testing Agency’s promise for big-ticket reforms, including going online, following question paper leaks and cheating allegations last year has come a cropper. NTA’s failure to deliver shows its incompetence to handle exams of such magnitude.

Social media platforms are showing signs of total capitulation to Trumpian post-fact rhetoric

World’s biggest social media platforms have been remarkably acrobatic toward President-elect Donald Trump—from banning him to paying obeisance through dinners and relaxing safeguards to suit his agenda. And all this before Trump 2.0 officially begins. These are treacherous times. Public platforms increasingly risk total capitulation to Trumpian post-fact rhetoric.

DU VC chairs book discussion on campus, endorses author’s view. It’s concerning

DU VC chairs book discussion on campus attended by BJP leaders and endorses author’s view that false narrative was spread in 2024 elections against PM Modi. It is concerning. Campuses should encourage diverse opinions. But an institute’s head brazenly taking a political line is misuse of power and highly deplorable.

  1. It does not show the NTA’s incompetence. It only shows the Union govt’s intent to ensure that maximum candidates qualify from the cow-belt states. In a fair exam, most seats will be occupied by students from southern Indian states and Bengal, Asam, Maharashtra, etc.
In fact, that is the reason why the Centre inteveened and created the NEET. To tilt the playing field in favour of students from the Hindi-belt.
The cut-offs for NEET-PG have been reduced – again for the very same reason.

  2. The Leftist loonies seem to have taken iver control at The Print editorial board.
Why is the DU VC’s act concerning and deplorable? Higher education (and the position of VC) has always been highly politicised. Did the erstwhile VCs appointed during the Congress era not openly support the Congress? Where was decorum and decency back then?

As far as social media and Trump is concerned, one has to point out the lies being spread. Why is it that the Right-wing political forces are the only ones to be “fact-checked” by these platforms? Why are the same “fact-checking” standards not applied to the Left-liberals? Every single Trump nominee till date has been subjected to vile and vicious attacks by the Left-liberal cabal – most of it through lies and fake news. Misinformation and disinformation have been employed as potent weapons by the Left-liberal media organisations in their pursuit of Trump vilification. Why are social media platforms not expected to “fact-check” them?

You praise and approve of someone only as long as he acts in your favour and is biased towards you. The moment he attempts a course correction and tries to be even-handed, you accuse him of capitulation and indulging in post-fact rhetoric.

    Great going “un-hyphenated journalism”.
