It is a bitter campaign, but PM Narendra Modi’s nuclear boast in an election rally does no credit to him as the leader of a responsible nuclear power. Nuclear weapons are a deterrent of last resort. It’s a strategic, tactical and moral folly to deploy these for partisan, electoral sabre-rattling.
CJI Gogoi shouldn’t have acted in anger & haste, but must continue work as usual
Chief Justice of India has a right to express outrage over the sexual harassment allegation against him, but wrong to dismiss it through a bench headed by him, constituted in anger and haste. The complaint should go to the court’s ICC. Until its decision, CJI should continue working as normal.
