Karnataka’s BJP government has stoked an unnecessary controversy over using Eidgah grounds for Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. Besides being another obvious attempt at communal polarisation ahead of elections, it also exposes the blatant double standards at play in the state where vigilante groups bar Muslim traders from doing business near temples.
