The government finally approved the National Education Policy, ushering in much-needed reforms. Flexibility in choosing subjects, discouraging rote learning are good, conceptually. But any policy is as good as its implementation, and our status-quoist bureaucracy inspires little confidence. The continuation of the hypocritical policy of education being not-for-profit is disappointing.
