The government finally approved the National Education Policy, ushering in much-needed reforms. Flexibility in choosing subjects, discouraging rote learning are good, conceptually. But any policy is as good as its implementation, and our status-quoist bureaucracy inspires little confidence. The continuation of the hypocritical policy of education being not-for-profit is disappointing.
Arrival of Rafale fighters is good news, but India’s military modernisation has miles to go
The arrival of the first Rafale fighter jets is good news for India’s military. One of the world’s finest fighter jets, it will, at full strength, boost IAF’s capabilities. But the breathlessness about the arrival hides chronic delays in India’s defence procurement. The country’s military modernisation has miles to go.
Every thing in Indian media must have a BUT in it. We are not willing to accept that the man heading policy initiative has a proven record of heading an organization which makes every Indian proud. If he could put India on the world map in space technology, despite all odds of 85% leakage culture and various sanction, can we not repose a faith in him without BUT.
He was not just a Babu in ISRO, he surely knows a few things about implementation as well and is unlikely to have written the policy without addressing implementation issues.
Media is crawling on all fours before a demagogue. Ask money from the demagogue.
