CARACAS (Reuters) – Venezuelan opposition leader Edmundo Gonzalez is set to travel to Uruguay and Panama in the coming days ahead of the Jan. 10 inauguration of President Nicolas Maduro, after a July election the opposition says Gonzalez won by a landslide.

Venezuela’s opposition said Gonzalez would travel to Uruguay this Saturday where he would meet President Luis Lacalle Pou. La Estrella de Panama newspaper said Gonzalez would then travel to Panama on Wednesday as part of a regional tour.

On Thursday, Gonzalez had said he would also travel to Argentina on Saturday as the first stop of the Latin American trip. Gonzalez has been living in Spain after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
