New Delhi: The COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated the interconnectedness of our planet and the urgent need for coordinated global responses to health security threats. This lesson, said the US State Department, prompted it to host the launch of the Foreign Ministry Channel for Global Health Security (FMC).

The FMC is a platform for foreign ministers to share their perspectives on global health security challenges and coordinate international efforts in strengthening preparedness and response to future pandemics.

The FMC draws on the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic to build a more resilient and effective framework for international cooperation in health security.

The FMC will draw on the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic and build a more resilient and effective framework for international cooperation in health security. The channel will strengthen communication between foreign ministries, international organizations, and other stakeholders, enhance coordination in the development of policies and programs, and promote joint research and development efforts.

The FMC will also provide an opportunity for foreign ministries to showcase their innovative policies and programs that aim to prevent, detect, and respond to health security threats. This will help to promote international awareness and understanding of the challenges posed by emerging health threats.

The establishment of the FMC represents a significant step forward in strengthening global health security. The platform will provide a much-needed tool for promoting cooperation and coordination between different stakeholders at the national and international levels. The FMC is expected to play a vital role in enhancing preparedness for and response to future public health crises.
