New Delhi: The UK government has added the Terrorgram Collective to the list of terrorist organisations in the country—a move that will increase powers to crack down on the group, a statement by the UK government said.

The UK Parliament deemed the collective a terrorist organisation and approved a draft order on its proscription Monday.

The order makes it a criminal offence to belong to the group or invite support for it, with a potential prison sentence of up to 14 years.

It also makes it a criminal offence for anyone to collect or possess information, which is likely to be useful to a person planning or committing acts of terrorism.

The group is one of 80 terrorist organisations already proscribed in the UK.
