New Delhi: Amid raging tensions between the United States and Iran, American President Donald Trump issued an expletive-laden warning on Truth Social, threatening coordinated attacks on Iranian infrastructure beginning Tuesday and demanding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
The message has drawn attention especially for its tone, which included direct insults along with the threat of military action, and ended with the Islamic phrase, “Praise be to Allah”.
“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F****** Strait, you crazy b*******, or you’ll be living in Hell—JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP,” his post on Truth Social read.
Soon after, Iran’s embassy in Thailand took a dig at the president in a post on X: “We know that some Americans swear, but is this the best and finest of you as POTUS?”
We know that some Americans swear, but is this the best and finest of you as POTUS?
Is this how you want to be represented in the world?

Trump had earlier hit pause on military strikes on Iran, giving the country until 5 April to open the Strait of Hormuz—a deadline he later extended by 48 hours, which ends Tuesday.
Iranian forces Sunday launched fresh strikes on energy infrastructure across the Gulf, targeting facilities in Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, according to statements attributed to Tehran. The attacks appeared to defy a 48-hour deadline set by Trump for Iran to de-escalate and allow maritime traffic through the Strait.
Iranian officials have previously warned that attacks on their territory, particularly against civilian targets, would be met with expanded strikes on what they describe as American economic interests in the region.
Shortly before publishing the post, Trump also said that US forces had conducted a high-risk rescue operation inside Iran to recover a wounded crew member from an F-15 fighter jet. He described the mission as having taken place deep within Iranian territory under the threat of detection, with Iranian troops reportedly searching the area.
According to the US president, the operation required hours of flight over hostile territory and involved evading Iranian defenses. He added that the recovered Air Force officer had sustained serious injuries.
The claims could not be independently verified, and officials have yet to provide additional details.
Iran, meanwhile, has said that the US operation used an abandoned airport in southern Isfahan province.
“The so-called US military rescue operation, planned as a deception and escape mission at an abandoned airport in southern Isfahan under the pretext of recovering the pilot of a downed aircraft, was completely foiled,” Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesman for the military’s central command, Khatam Al-Anbiya, said in a video statement on state television, adding that “two C-130 military transport planes and two Black Hawk helicopters were destroyed” during the operation.
Zolfaghari also said that Trump went ahead with “empty rhetoric and diversion although the reality on the ground demonstrates the superior position of Iran’s powerful armed forces”.
