New Delhi: The Government of Austria has announced its support of an additional EUR 1.22 million for the UN Development Program (UNDP) in 2024. This significant increase will help the organization continue its work in more than 170 countries and territories worldwide, a UNDP press release stated.

The funds received from Austria will be used to support a range of priority areas, including human rights, the rule of law, climate adaptation and mitigation actions, and inclusive policies and societies.

Austria has made a significant contribution to the UNDP’s work in Albania. It strengthened the legal and policy framework for the effective implementation of the free legal aid service provision program, which is one of the tangible results of the Austria-UNDP partnership.

Austria’s contributions to the UNDP’s core resources play a critical role in strengthening its oversight and accountability functions, the release added. The funds ensure that UNDP programs are delivered effectively, efficiently, and transparently, which is essential for the organization to continue its work.
