ASEAN’s CPR meets in Laos, discusses bloc’s external relations

The Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) convened its eighth regular meeting in Luang Prabang Sunday, signaling the commencement of the ASEAN Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM) and Related Meetings series, the press release stated.

This meeting marks the start of the ASEAN Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM) and a series of related meetings.

During the meeting, the CPR discussed a wide range of issues, including the follow-up to the 57th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ and Related Meetings in July 2024. The CPR also focused on strengthening ASEAN’s external relations by strengthening its partnerships with ASEAN Dialogue Partners, Sectoral Dialogue Partners, and Development Partners, and International and Regional Organisations.
