New Delhi: The twelfth session of the World Urban Forum (WUF) will be held in Cairo, Egypt, from 4 to 8 November. The theme of WUF12 is “It All Starts at Home: Local Actions for Sustainable Cities and Communities”, ADB has announced.
The World Urban Forum (WUF) is a high-level global conference on sustainable urbanization. It is organized by UN-Habitat and takes place every two years.
The forum will bring together thousands of participants from around the world, including government representatives, academics, business leaders, and civil society organizations. They will share knowledge and experiences on sustainable urbanization and discuss key challenges and solutions.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will be participating in WUF12 and hosting several events, including: Sponge Cities and Nature-based Solutions Integrating Climate Action for Resilience and Livability (SDGs in Action Event), Financial Sustainability – Key to Unlocking Subnational Finance for Sustainable Urban Development (Networking Event), and Housing 4 All – Green, Resilient, Inclusive and Affordable (Networking Event). These events will focus on key issues in sustainable urbanization, such as climate change adaptation, financial sustainability, and affordable housing. Representatives of ADB will share sponge city good practices, cases, and programs.
