New Delhi: The death of the victim of the brutal Hathras gang rape saw Twitter erupt in protest over the crime and the safety of women.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi led the way as she lambasted Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over the series of rapes that have taken place in the state in a short span of time.

Actor Kangana Ranaut, too, rages against the rape of the 19-year-old casualty of sexual assault—and demands wants drastic action against the assailants.
Shoot these rapists publicly, what is the solution to these gang rapes that are growing in numbers every year? What a sad and shameful day for this country. Shame on us we failed our daughters #RIPManishaValmiki

More than the violent crime, political activist Kavita Krishnan seems interested in the caste factor here.
The Hathras gangrape victim passed away.
Speak about the reality of assaults on Dalit women and girls. Connect dots, show larger picture of structural violence against Dalits, Dalit women. Don't isolate, exceptionalise this case as a gruesome aberration.— Kavita Krishnan (@kavita_krishnan) September 29, 2020
Congress leader Milind Deora looked at the gangrape in the light of the recent incident in Madhya Pradesh where a police officer assaulted his wife. No country for women?
If a DG rank officer can get away with assaulting his wife, what message are we sending to rapists? https://t.co/6eXXFg9gc2

And here’s Rukshmanii Kumari, Congress, on the Rohit Shetty of Uttar Pradesh’s ‘Bollywood’.

Onto other subjects: In response to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s comment in The Indian Express that the Congress should “fight us in the House”, Congress veteran Kapil Sibal had this to say — you don’t want to miss out on it.
Nirmala Sitharaman says :
“ Fight us in the House ……………”
Which House ?
Where :PM does not answer questions
Opposition’s issues not discussed
Microphones shut
‘ China’s incursions cannot be discussed ‘
Division sought is denied

Former executive director of Amnesty International India Aakar Patel makes a harsh allegation against the government after the human rights organisation suspended its India operations citing government interference.
This is the fifth time Amnesty India is being shut down. The first time was when George Fernandes led it 50 years ago. https://t.co/5TnETk2uyL

Does New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristoff have the effrontery to suggest that the Modi government is heading for the “dustbin of history’’?
Prime Minister Modi should remember that many autocrats have battled @AmnestyInternational over the decades — and most of them are now in the dust bin of history. https://t.co/L4pWvlH7BN

Punjab chief minister Capt. Amarinder Singh launches an attack on the farm bills with military precision.
Farmers brave the heat & cold to plough and feed all of us. I can’t fathom why the Central Government has brought laws which threaten their livelihood. Farmers are on the street protesting for a reason & I will put all my might in fighting against these legislations. pic.twitter.com/Nkf2WU6yej

Meanwhile PM Modi attacks the Opposition for opposing certain issues. Isn’t that what it’s supposed to do?

Looks like someone is playing around with Swaraj India President Yogendra Yadav’s Twitter account. Careful now….
There was some suspicious RT from my account an hour ago. My team detected and deleted the offending tweet. Am told @TwitterIndia has also suspended the account involved in this attack.
We are raising our security level for any future cyber attack.— Yogendra Yadav (@_YogendraYadav) September 28, 2020
National General of the BJP Kailash Vijayvargiya received quite the welcome when he landed in Kolkata airport. Need we remind people that Covid-19 still exists?

And US President Donald Trump had another quip on the “lamestream media” and his Nobel Peace Prize nomination.
Might as well mention this because it will never be reported by the Lamestream Media! https://t.co/5qqZrr9hXz
