US, China hold AI risk, safety talks, White House says

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The United States and China on Tuesday held talks on artificial intelligence, the White House said in a statement.

U.S. and Chinese officials held a ‘candid and constructive discussion’ on AI risk management in meetings in Switzerland, White House National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson said in a statement on Wednesday. The U.S. raised concerns over the potential ‘misuse of AI,’ including by China, according to the statement.
