Covid vaccine developed by Zydus Lifesciences was approved for use in those aged 12 and above in September 2021. Centre ordered 1 crore doses last year & delivery began in February.
It will be used in six other states too. Corbevax of Biological E is also expected to start coming in this month. No decision so far on the government procuring Covovax.
Only Covaxin will be used for vaccinating an estimated 7.4 crore 15-18-year-olds, so finding a slot for the first shot of the indigenous vaccine could get more difficult.
