When the first Vande Bharat trains were entirely made by the ICF in India, what was the reasoning of the geniuses in Delhi over calling for global tenders for additional trains? Every train manufactured overseas would mean that much less manufacturing in India, and that much less resultant economic activity there. I can understand that Narendra Modi might want to make his Guru Xi happy while flaunting his 56″ chest before his devotees, but someone might want to ask how this squared with his “Make in India” propaganda campaign, as well.
