Vedanta was ordered to shut Sterlite Copper last May after 13 people died when police opened fire on protesters, who alleged the plant was polluting the area.
Vedanta's Sterlite copper plant was closed in May 2018 amid violent protests over pollution concerns. In December, the NGT asked the Tamil Nadu govt to reopen it.
