The deceased, identified as Sumit, was sitting in a street and had a verbal spat with 3-4 boys, who then attacked him. Sumit sustained 17 stab wounds on his face, neck, chest & abdomen.
The man, an auto driver, survived the attack. He had intervened after spotting the accused, his friends vandalising the tanker which had run over his friend. Tanker driver is absconding.
