With a biopic on former Indian hockey captain Sandeep Singh, Ali brings freshness to an expanding sports genre by focussing on the struggle of the body.
As FIFA kick-starts in Russia, amidst protests over Russia supporting Bashar al-Assad 's regime in Syria, here are some the most politically charged sporting events.
Countering insurgency needs the Pakistan Army to demonstrate a political will that ties leaders at the centre with those in the borderlands. But it may not have the imagination.
Centre for Science and Environment in new report makes case for rationalising GST on waste material, saying most informal operators can’t afford high tax & it also hinders recycling.
Standing up to America is usually not a personal risk for a leader in India. Any suggestions of foreign pressure unites India behind who they see as leading them in that fight.
Virat Kohli is know about his aggression and his success comes from his aggression. “Virat kohli is nice guy with some arrogance in him. we all see what he did to gautam gambir.
The author only knows about cricket, but realizes that in a country of over 125 crores, there are many people who have excelled in their fields and are internationally renowned. If you have Kohli’s world-class batsman in India, you have 100 times that many Indian doctors practice in India itself and there are a thousand more all over the world, who are considered to be world class internationally.
The author knows only about cricket maybe but must realise that in a country of more than 125 crore, there are several people who have excelled in their own fields and are famous internationally. If you have an world class batsman in Kohli in India, you have 100 times that many Indian doctors practising in India itself and a thousand more all over the world, who are considered world class internationally.
Human beings have an evolutionary need to praise or applaud the one who is seen to be the most powerful. People will justify everything these people does . Keep it up. Hope you would say the same even if they hit your face.
Most surprising to see u justify bad behaviour under the garb of being world beaters. Wonder how u explain the success of Sachin,Federer, Bolt,Jordan & many more Champs. Off field and on field behaviour don’t go hand in hand so pls don’t justify it.
Yeah, Virat Kohli is indeed arrogant but then again has no proved again and again that his arrogance really works in team’s favour? He is not arrogant to people he is a hard worker and stays loyal to the team, make runs, smash records, wins tournaments and series for his country. He is like Cristiano Ronaldo of cricket, extremely confident and true to his game.
The criticism is directed at a cricketer who is so narcissistic, or maybe just plain idiotic, as to believe that if you don’t like the Indian cricket team, you aren’t Indian and should leave the country. Someone moronic enough to equate India with its cricket team (a team that represents BCCI, which is not even a proper sports federation) deserves the flak. Unfortunately, the author himself seems to be a part of this community.
I am a physician and understanding the patient’s body language is part of my professional training. I have seen the clip shown on TV when Kohli gave the answer. What I saw was not humour but the facial expression was saying “How dare you?”. The author knows only about cricket maybe but must realise that in a country of more than 125 crore, there are several people who have excelled in their own fields and are famous internationally. I did not hear anyone defending or attacking Modi when he made his statement in London in April, 2018 in front of an NRI audience about doctors in India. No one in Indian media took up the issue when Modi insulted an entire professional class in India which is the biggest provider of skilled workforce all over the world and any country would accept them without questions. My parents worked as doctors for 9 years in Algeria, if you even know where that is.
So, do not defend Kohli for his behaviour. It was unbecoming of a sportsman, utterly and completely. The first person we expect a sportive spirit from is a sportman. I have not seen anyone from media defend Indian doctors who lynched by a mob but make a ruckus when the doctors go on strike because the police refuse to protect them or even file a FIR. In contrast, you make such a huge ruckus over religious or cow lynching. For every single incident of religious lynching, there are atleast 10 happening against doctors in this country. But, it is not newsworthy. That is why, Indian media have a suitable description called “PRESSTITUTES”.
Bigshot reporters write about Kakinada but do not know which state it is in and you call yourself experts. If you are an expert on cricket game, why don’t you bloody stick to it instead of otherwise claiming yourself to be an expert on everything under the sun? This is the problem with Indian media nowadays. They are all trained in tabloid or social media reporting but no serious journalism. They do not have subject matter expertise and go waddle in every subject like a water buffalo in any pond or pigs in the sewerage. And then they wonder, why people are angry at Indian media.
Now, after these harsh criticisms that I have made, I hope that the author of this article understands that all this is said in jest. How do you feel now?
Mr. Docherla, you are an idiot. Physician who reads body languages? Which college did you go?
You are a doctor. Dime a dozen. You are not important. There are millions of doctors. Kohli is one among billion. Stupid.
Very sympathetic view of an arrogant cricketer. Yes,he has rights to have his own views, but he has no right to question other’s tastes and views.Has he become another bhakti to ask people to leave India,if one questions the actions of the government?
Arrogance is OK. But why make comments like, “go to some other country” as Virat Kohli is reported to have said to somebody who criticised him. This Giriraj Singh type of insulting statement is surely not OK. Unless Kohli was eager to endear himself to the BJP clique who speak such language and believe that it reflects their “patriotism”. Personally I will any day welcome a cricketer like Sachin Tendulkar than this fellow. He was truly great, and not just an “inform batter” like this foul-mouthed man!
I have never seen virat kohli making any polical statement and any sports person do not want to do so.
Virat Kohli is know about his aggression and his success comes from his aggression. “Virat kohli is nice guy with some arrogance in him. we all see what he did to gautam gambir.
Virat is all-time best player India has. Game is not about to win but about how you play and we know well that how Virat is playing in all matches

I must say Virat is extra energetic but no arrogant. Love from Pakistan

This is a very sympathetic view of an arrogant cricketer. But he should not ask people to leave India who don’t like Indian Cricketers.
