Rajya Sabha member & Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) party leader, arrested in alleged money laundering case, was released Wednesday after Bombay HC refused to pass stay order on his bail.
The Sena spokesperson is in jail in connection with the Patra Chawl land scam. Sanjay Raut will get the memoir published soon after his release, says brother Sunil.
Last month, MHADA called for bids to complete pending work on buildings on its share of plot. It's also started constructing buildings for rehabilitation of 672 Patra Chawl residents.
Earlier, on 1 August, Raut was sent to Enforcement Directorate's custody till 1 August in connection with a money laundering case pertaining to the Patra Chawl land scam
Varsha Raut is expected to be confronted with her husband & other accused involved. ED earlier told the court Raut & family received "proceeds of crime" worth over Rs 1 crore.
The public prosecutor, who appeared on behalf of the ED, said Raut was kept in a windowless room since there was an AC. The special court also extended Raut’s ED custody till 8 August
