Former Commissioner of Mumbai Police Rakesh Maria tells all in his new book ‘Let Me Say It Now’, including how the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts were planned.
Whether it is due to the alleged unofficial ban on The Bengal Files or allegations by Gopal Mukherjee’s family against Agnihotri, everyone in the state wants to know more about Mukherjee.
As devastated farmers begin to come to terms with the fallout, 4 lakh hectares of land under paddy cultivation across state is flooded. Punjab is among the biggest contributors to PDS.
New Delhi: Army chief General Upendra Dwivedi has strongly backed the idea of theaterisation, saying it is inevitable and the need of the hour.
Speaking...
In its toughest time in decades because of floods, Punjab would’ve expected PM Modi to visit. If he has the time for a Bihar tour, why not a short visit to next-door Punjab?
Belated but Mr. Rakesh Maria has carefully carved the many episodes he enthralled during his tenure as Mumbai Police Commissioner. Sense little than a self proclaimed approach towards the contents of his book putting light on the events unfolded as dark days in the Mumbai life is too late as the era of analyzing and fixing has gone. I went through the book published earlier by Mr. Hassan Mushrif who shed light of how a huge tug of war or tussle is witnessed within the Mumbai Police IPS team to grab the most benefits of the chair. Little light is being put in the context of events brought forwarded by Mr. Mushrif, instead an analysis of his consciousness is showcased to appease the power house on the rightist to project the Good Boy of his times. The pinning of names such as Mr. Deven Bharti knowing the facts of Sheena Bora case and Mr. Deven’s comments hitting back at Mr. Maria further opens the distorted face of the Intelligence connecting the events withing the Mumbai Police. The whole of Mumbai Serial Blast case has been re-written in many ways by individuals of influences along with Media houses. Many books and Movie got influenced by this tragedy. Today this books makes little impact as the the whole event is closed in courts and justice layed in the best way for the victim’s families. Hence I feel the books has to be read in a balanced mind by admiring Mr. Maria’s work to pen it down after years of pains.
The Bombay blasts of March 1993 should serve as a cautionary tale, of what can happen in a diverse society if an important minority feels deeply wronged. The security establishment should continue to sensitise the political executive to the possible consequences of religious polarisation, of sporadic attacks on members of the minority community, their marginalisation and growing sense of siege and injustice. It is very reassuring that the nationwide protests against CAA – which are actually about a lot more than a single law which does not directly harm the community directly – are entirely peaceful and constitutional.
As long as there are people like you in this sub-continent, there is hope.
The peaceful protests against CAA are indeed the way to go.
But are you trying to justify the serial blasts ? Shame on you.
No amount of siege mentality and injustice (real or perceived) can justify being a traitor to your country and conspiring with enemies.
All these people should be hanged or hunted down in the shameless hell of Pakistan where some of these clowns are still hiding
What i believe he is saying is, the babri demolition and the subsequent atmosphere created a crack in the nation’s harmony that was exploited by the D and ISI. I agree as well.
And the Left-Liberal media nexus will cry “And they hanged him” in 100-point font on the first page.
Daud is a deshdrohi and all who are with him
