Bairabi-Sairang rail line, inaugurated by Modi, has finally put Aizawl on the national railway grid. It’s expected to boost local economy, benefit students, patients & businesspersons.
A train line, used by nearly 50,000 people, has been halted possibly for weeks between the cities of Den Bosch and Eindhoven. The travellers are being shifted to buses or a different route.
Mooted by Army in 2010-11, the plan is to connect key border areas including that in Arunachal, Manipur & Sikkim through railways. Bhalukpong-Tawang line is of particular importance.
Initial talks held on the possibility of India entering the programme that was started in 2017 between France, Germany and Spain to ensure European sovereignty in defence and security.
