Over the decades may weapons and planes were bought but none that generated the hype of the arrival of tghe first five of the 36 Jets bought from France landed. One might have been misled into thinking that Modi personally built these jets instead of paying for them. I am a Bhajpa supporter/ voter who doesn’t take himself, or his allegiance too seriously. Trust me, when I was watching the coverage (on TV in Geneva), I was hoping to read your views because I was certain I’d see some humorous content in your analysis. Maybe some news channels carried their excitement a bit too far, but contrary to Shekhar Gupta’s criticism of the event (in his tweet), some celebration of the induction was called for. Loved your concluding remark: “it isn’t for the media to be the judge of that”. Bon journee, Ms. Shailaja Bajpai.

The Print’s moderation team takes a day to clear a comment which has a predominantly positive content? I am impressed.
