The Congress leader's comments came after Punjab CM Amarinder Singh attended Navjot Singh Sidhu’s coronation as the new state unit chief at Punjab Bhawan in Chandigarh.
Amarinder Singh had until recently opposed the appointment and had said he won't meet Sidhu until the cricketer-turned-politician apologises for his 'derogatory' tweets against him.
Sidhu, who replaced Sunil Jakhar, was elevated to the position despite opposition from Amarinder Singh. He also thanked the Gandhis for naming him Punjab Congress head.
Party president Sonia Gandhi is also holding a meeting of party MPs in the evening, who have said they have come to discuss the issues to be raised in the Monsoon Session.
Several MLAs in Punjab Congress complain about CM Amarinder Singh's style of functioning, but they also say Navjot Singh Sidhu has 'no governance record'.
SEBI probe concluded that purported loans and fund transfers were paid back in full and did not amount to deceptive market practices or unreported related party transactions.
Many really smart people now share the position that playing cricket with Pakistan is politically, strategically and morally wrong. It is just a poor appreciation of competitive sport.
