The Railways Wednesday invited Request for Qualifications for private companies to operate 151 passenger trains on 109 Origin Destination pairs of routes.

Me posting a comment here has no political angle but it is a clear abolishment of idea of accessibility to all. Goods and services that government keeps in its hands to ensure that citizens are not exploited by private players includes Railways. And people commenting Only Modi can dare to take such steps, you’re right. Only he is stupid enough to take such decisions without giving it a thought. Morons.
I don’t want to educate you on public good and private good, that seem like too complex an idea to explain someone like you. Anyway I’m also not creating a political angle here. But it’s the government which exploits and not the private sector for ling period of time. Private sector if exploit will leave people to switch to other choices contrary to govt when you don’t have any choice. Today I can switch from Airtel to Jio if I find Airtel exploiting me. But back in 80s/90s you’d have to wait for years to get a measly phone connection. And no, rest of the world didn’t face such a problem – only socialists states did.
