National interest should get the priority. Every country does what is best for itself.
Depends how one defines national interest. Here it seems to be equivalent to the interest of inefficient Indian industry, crony capitalists selling their shoddy goods and services to millions of ordinary Indians, with the protection of extortionate customs duties and taxes. So instead of the ordinary Indian being able to buy the best product/service at the most economical price, he/she is forced to impoversish himself/herself to enrich fat cats.
