Mokama MLA Anant Singh was booked under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act following the alleged recovery of an AK-47 from his home in Barh near Patna.
With Bihar elections a year away and Lalu’s RJD at its lowest point, the JD(U) wants Muslims in its corner. But its alliance with BJP is standing in the way.
Nitish govt gets walkover in assembly over encephalitis deaths as opposition tries to censure it but is left embarrassed by absence of its leader Tejashwi.
Mini deal will likely see no cut in 10% baseline tariff on Indian exports announced by Trump on 2 April, it is learnt, but additional 26% tariffs are set to be reduced.
India-Russia JV is also racing to deliver 7,000 more AK-203 assault rifles by 15 Aug. These are currently being made with 50% indigenisation and this will surge to 100% by 31 December.
Public, loud, upfront, filled with impropriety and high praise sometimes laced with insults. This is what we call Trumplomacy. But the larger objective is the same: American supremacy.
BJP must severe all ties from Nitish as he is opposing all policies of party inside or outside of parliament. JD(U) has no capacity to win considerable number of seats to form govt. So BJP must withdraw support from JD(U) govt and fight election alone as friendly way with JD(U) as Nitish is fighting assembly elections in Jharkhandh, Delhi independently against BJP. So BJP should also fight independently.
No ! Nitish Kumar is not there where he is due to Prashant Kishore. He is there due to his great work for Bihar. He has changed the face of Bihar on the map of India. And let us not forget that he remains one of very few politicians in power upon whom no allegation of Corruption has even been made from any quarter. This of course makes him distinguished among his fellow politicians – Clean, Efficient and Committed!
Yes, equations of today is not at all in his favour. BJP is not the BJP he chose to partner with – there appears to be nobody being soft on him. Modi ji would not forget the humiliation meted out to him and with him being so no leader in BJP would even imagine to talk about him.
BJP already feels it should not have ceded that many seats to JD (U) for Lok Sabha and that it was only due to BJP that Nitish Kumar has that many MPs in Lok Sabha. Given this background, unless mood of politics changes drastically, his top job is sure to go whatever be the elections results. Most likely JD (U) is not going to have much seats in bargain and even if he gets 50% of the seats, he is likely to end up winning much lesser seats than BJP. Moreover, having let Nitish Kumar remain Chief Minister for so many years, BJP would definitely like to have it’s own CM.
In the face of the current situation, Nitish ji has to play his card more prudently and nicely. Firstly, he should know his worth. He is no more a young leader of twenty years ago. He commands a respect and love from his people and thus he is supposed to act too matured like elderly statesman and not as a power hungry politician. He had already have enough of power and glory. If he is not going to become Prime Minister of the country, there is nothing that he can aspire to become now !
Secondly, he should bargain a prestigious seat sharing with BJP – not less than 50-50. He should also press BJP to declare him Chief Ministerial candidate before the elections.
Thirdly, if BJP does not agree to declare that the partners should agree that the CM would be from the party having the greater number of law makers.
Fourthly, if at all he feels BJP is behaving arrogantly, he should decide to go solo and not hesitate to sit in opposition- this will enhance his credibility.
And Fifthly, perhaps look utopian but may try RJD to merge with JD(U). This would be proper and better for both. Look absurd but ……
Nitish Babu has always tried to position himself as an alternative to PM Modi. Possibly other than him there is nobody with a clean image in the event of a new mahagathbandhan emerging where he would not bat an eyelid before jumping across if he is accepted as the leader. For the time being he has realised, his limitationsion in oratory, language, charisma, vision and ability to work. With Lalu cooling his heels for a foreseeable future, he has no choice but to continue, with or without Prashant Kishore and even Pawan Varma. With a well planned succession his chances in BJP are also limited.
