While interacting with the students of IIT Gandhinagar recently, I observed that most of them still believed in Modi, and Gujarat was a safe place for women, unlike most of the states.

The youth of Gujarat who are reaching the voting age of 18 for the first time in this election were 15-16 years old when the state voted overwhelmingly to make Modi the Prime Minister. Naturally, at that time, the Modi craze was very high.

All the actions by the government in the past month suggest that the government is trying to please all segments of the economy.

It is not BJP vs the Congress, or Modi vs Soniaben. Narendra Modi's own voters will decide whether to re-elect or defeat him.

The last thing Modi and Kejriwal supporters want to hear is how similar their leaders and their decisions were. But there was a whole host of similarities.

If we cut through the marketing hype, Gujarat is not the trailblazer state it is made out to be.
