It is intriguing why this bill was discussed for just 6 hours each in each in LS and Rs. Each MP should have been given aleast 30 mintues to debate, and one page written text of his views with justifications and the aggregate should have been compiled and documented before the discussion began. An important matter of such grave nature, should have been thoroughly discussed atleast for 6 days instead of just two days. It is also intriguing why the state govts were not taken into confidence before introducing the bill. Instead, the State Govts should have been taken in to confidence while preparing the draft, followed by at least three rounds of discussion, incorporate the changes that addresses the concerns of all stake holders and then introduce the bill in the parliamement with the backing of the state governments. By Not taking the state governements into confidence first and then introducing it in the Parliament to get it passed, the Governement at Centre lost a golden opportunity to demonstrate its faith in the Federal structure of our governance and the correctness in the conduct of the parliamentary democracy thereby achieving a high level of statesmanship and democratic maturity – this was an opportunity lost by the government to consolidate on the gains of its parliamentary elections victory
Another Perspective on CAB by Yogendra Yadav. Actual study of the Bill will help to understand whether the concerns listed by the author are addressed in the bill. The spurt of reactions in different parts indicates the there is urgent need to explain the bill via a via the concerns if any. This is the time for the govt to reach out to all political parties to address the concerns and specific impact of the Bill listed. Also it is necessary for all political parties to put aside their differences and find out how to stop the spurt of dissatisfaction against. It is time to stop politicking over this issue and instead hold all party public meetings across country and allay these concerns. The onus lies on both the govt at centre , govtss in states and all political parties to sit together instead of mudslinging each other. They need to show maturity and statesmanship keeping aside their ego. The govt must realise that it is for all its citizens and the opposition parties must also realize that it stands for all the citizens. It is time to rise over ideological or political differences.IT IS HOPED THAT IN FUTURE ALL PARTIES AND THE STATE GOVERNMENTS ARE TAKEN INTO CONFIDENCE THRU DIALOGUE DISCUSSION AND ARRIVE AT CONCENSUS BEFORE ENACTING A BILL.
