I wish all citizen-voters undertake, with assistance of independent intellectuals, an impartial analysis of the current socio-political and economic scenario in the country. I say that if that is done, they will realize that there are serious issues which require immediate attention. I will mention a few here. 3. We need to protect environment; for this we must demand implementation of policies/programmes for a cut in consumption of petrol and diesel and also of rules to curb use of all private vehicles. 4. We observe that all political parties, once in power, are reluctant to implement reforms- administration, election law, economic /fiscal, legal education sector and so on. Further, we need a law for compulsory audit of accounts of all political parties and in this regard to all political parties are reluctant to have such an audit. My point is that these issues are serious, perhaps as serious as those mentioned by author in this article. We citizen-voters must do some serious introspection and demand action on these issues.
