This article shows no credibility regarding the use of iron-fortified rice. The studies are supposed to be conducted with people who are actually going to be consuming these products. If it is not proved to have no side-effects, it hasn’t proved to be beneficial either. There have been no credible studies on why this should be implemented in the first place and the so called studies have not been made accessible in the public domain. Its a shame that somethin like this is thought of as solution and there is no explanation given to people about these measures. it is obvious that they will think there are contaminants in the PDS rice they receive. I have seen the fortified grains myself which does look like plastic, feels sticky and does not get cooked with other rice. Will you eat a food like this? People are falling sick because of conditions like sickle cell anemia and there is no impact study about the effects of iron fortified rice on their healths. on what grounds are you suggesting that everything here is good? It looks like sab changa si.. Shame on this government.
