India, the world’s most populous country, is a major economic and political power in South Asia. Known for its vast linguistic, cultural, and geographic diversity, India has a rich history that spans thousands of years, with deep-rooted traditions in philosophy, science, art, and religion. Its large population and vast history mark its economic and cultural importance.
While India’s civilization can be traced to the Harrapan era, that is, 1400 BCE, its modern political boundaries were established in 1947 when it gained independence from British rule. It is now a federal parliamentary democracy with 28 states and 8 union territories, with New Delhi as its capital. India has a democratic system with a multiparty political landscape, with the Indian National Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party being the two dominant national parties.
As one of the fastest-growing major economies, India is a global hub for technology, manufacturing, and services, while also being an agrarian powerhouse. It is a nuclear-armed state and plays a key role in regional and global geopolitics, maintaining strategic partnerships with various nations.
India is one of the most ethnically and religiously diverse countries in the world, home to multiple religions, sects, castes, and tribes. It has more than ten-thousand languages and hundreds of regional dialects, with Hindi and English serving as the two of the 22 official languages. Despite economic progress, India faces challenges such as poverty, unemployment, and environmental concerns, alongside managing its complex social fabric and regional disparities.
So sad to see aspirations, hope and illusions turn to delusion. Mary Poppins sang “Those were the days my friend…”
Those 50000 Indians might have acquired US citizenship, but they have failed to come out of the characteristic Indian FEUDAL MINDSET – – ” a tendency to favour your favourite, and not the talented”. There was a lady who couldn’t sing for nuts murdering the Bhajan “Vaishno Jan toh tehne kahiye..”, then there were men and women pounding the drums to boredom, then some others jumping around or troubling their vocal chords trying to dance or sing respectively. It was very easy for us to see, sitting thousands of miles away, that ALL these “artists” must be influential among the organizers. They thought when something important was being done, it was their birthright to be in the thick of things. So what if they didn’t know the ABC of what they were supposed to do?
And that perennial feudal attitude pretty much sums up EVERYTHING that Narendra Modi stands for. This country is going to dogs because “bharosemand” or “trustworthy” people are having a field day running it. Gujjus have a phrase to dedcribe this speicie : AAPDO MANOOS. India was trying hard to change, to come out of this mindset, the duo leadership from Gujarat has put it in the retrograde mode. Soon we will be back to the times when India was SONEY KI CHIDIYA. Kahaan jaa rahey thhey, kahaan aa gayey hum. Thanks to Narendra Modi. Howdy Modi!
A changing India that one may not afford to ignore – the rising India, claiming the glory it deserves!
It would be in huge interests of both the countries and it would be natural too, if the largest of democracies come on board and sink together to make the world more livable and loveable.
Trump, being a corporate in himself and being the head of the largest democracy, knows it too well than many other statesman and so never misses any opportunity to make it seemingly evident too.
India has come a long way to be here where it is now – it’s democracy experimenting too much and then coming to a decisive and dynamic stage of being an invincible one. No statesman other than Nehru had the personal glamorous aura that Modi ji has come to enjoy.
India is very much in its way of being one of the global first benchers in his own right. Diplomatically India is having a comfortable edge over China too in so far as it concerns with democratic clout and strength.
Few years down the line in future India would be seen a balancing country between The USA and Russia and will enjoy the position of mentor!
