India, the world’s most populous country, is a major economic and political power in South Asia. Known for its vast linguistic, cultural, and geographic diversity, India has a rich history that spans thousands of years, with deep-rooted traditions in philosophy, science, art, and religion. Its large population and vast history mark its economic and cultural importance.
While India’s civilization can be traced to the Harrapan era, that is, 1400 BCE, its modern political boundaries were established in 1947 when it gained independence from British rule. It is now a federal parliamentary democracy with 28 states and 8 union territories, with New Delhi as its capital. India has a democratic system with a multiparty political landscape, with the Indian National Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party being the two dominant national parties.
As one of the fastest-growing major economies, India is a global hub for technology, manufacturing, and services, while also being an agrarian powerhouse. It is a nuclear-armed state and plays a key role in regional and global geopolitics, maintaining strategic partnerships with various nations.
India is one of the most ethnically and religiously diverse countries in the world, home to multiple religions, sects, castes, and tribes. It has more than ten-thousand languages and hundreds of regional dialects, with Hindi and English serving as the two of the 22 official languages. Despite economic progress, India faces challenges such as poverty, unemployment, and environmental concerns, alongside managing its complex social fabric and regional disparities.
Leave it to ThePrint to complete whatever job was half done by Thapar. You guys are an expert at twisting any issue to be a result of ‘How bad Hindus are’.
Since the failure of access journalism in India, the effort seems to be gain that in Pakistan. For all we know it might be an effort at promoting Moeed Yusuf
as an alternative to Imran who can neither think no talk. Moeed Yusuf may become a preferred BOLBACCHAN for Pak Army. We have no shortage of jurnos and “POLITICL / DEFENSE ANALYSTS” who are willing to make their presence registered in Pakistan in the hope of becoming interlocutors and track two diplomats as and when the present dispensation is replaced.
The comment on interviewing style is quit telling. The arrogance is missing. The leading question to promote the pre-arranged Moeed agenda cannot be more obvious. In nay case the no Thapar has painted himself in glory since 62, in defense, media or even in India Inc. including now a new Thapar on the small screen. If the Ayiers, Tharoors and RaGa were throw in their lot the future of Moeed should be bright.
AS India takes on China confidently, Pakistan has lost its nuisance value for India. In future, India will increasingly treat Pakistan as a marginal power, to be dealt along with China. In view of this, any such attempt by any Pakistani to draw attention from India is of little relevance.
However, this interview by Thapar for Wire is deeply disturbing though it is in line with its anti Government, if not anti national tendencies.
Captain Imran Khan thundered in the UN sometime back that there will be a blood bath in Kashmir after the article 370 abrogation.
No blood bath or sun bath of moon bath happened, this is another oral diarrhea form the Paki Team. Nothing more, nothing less.
A small nation with Obsessive- Compulsive disorder and thinks its a super power but goes begging for just 6 billion dollars. A nation that shamelessly begs using its army- mercenary combine as a political capital,
I used to think Ayesha as logical person. But she is more and more looking like spokesperson for Pakistani Army.
A lot of these ‘liberal looking’ journalists from across the border are actually wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Karan had the upper hand , Yusuf came off like an angry school boy . The interview got no pick up in Indian papers. Pak is now viewed in thee axis of evil lead by china so no one would take any allegations seriously
Who is this new kid in the block!! Seem to be a loud mouth
If Pakistani politicians and intelligentsia put in this much time and effort in solving the economic and social issues, Pakistan would not be going around with bowl in hand. Pakistan will never learn. When both the helpless elites who grew up in military worshipping culture and rabid religionists are engaged in useless debate, the Army and the politicians are destroying the country. Pakistan’s trouble started when it cease being a country for Indian Muslims, the original purpose of its creation and become a county for Islam (which no other Muslim country believe it is).
@ Ayeesha.
A bit of sour grapes from your part since the print did not get this interview. Karan handled the interview extremely well and it only should what we already know that ( Pakistani’s leadership) are an aggressive uncouth bunch of people. The issue is not about the Kashmir people , its about water. The chance of India ever giving up the flow of 5 rivers is beyond none to never. The rest is hog wash and New Delhi is well aware of this.
Yes Pakistan might have China on its side, However India is no fool, wait and watch the majesty of our democracy fly high.
Nawaz Sheriff’s address to his constituency, highlighting the damage done to the economy by the security establishment must have definitely caused much concentration. Tomtoming the success of Mooed Yusuf’s interview with Karan Thapar is mainly to divert attention from severe economic problems being faced by the Pakistan economy and also to conjure up a narrative which showed up India being responsible for acts of terrorism happening within Pakistan. Such a narrative may suit the Security Establishment as Pakistan continues to be under danger of coming under FATF blacklist.
The World except maybe China has become wise enough to trust Pakistan on curbing terrorism emanating from its soil.
The Kashmir issue during the interview may have been added to assure the interested lobbies that Pakistan’s unwavering support to the Kashmir cause.
The overall message maybe to inform that the Establishment continues to be in total control.
In today’s friday times of pakistan, senator farhatullah babar has given a totally different opinion on the interview. as an indian i believe that narrative is nearer to the truth.
Shameless Advisor to PM of Pakistan, lying without any guilt about the oppression on the Uighurs. Pathetic, Disgraceful. A Mosque was demolished and Toilet constructed on top of the demolished Mosque in Uighur province of China, . Bribe Money from China are more important than any so called Muslim solidarity it seems. The less these type of people talk about Muslim Unity and Jihad the better for the world. These people will sell their parents and children in their blind hate to get even with India.
After being convicted for receiving funds from ISI, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Fai has no credibility left.
Also, his dear Indian friend, Mr. Gautam Navlakha too seems to be staring at a bleak future if convicted in the Bhima Koregaon case.
