India, the world’s most populous country, is a major economic and political power in South Asia. Known for its vast linguistic, cultural, and geographic diversity, India has a rich history that spans thousands of years, with deep-rooted traditions in philosophy, science, art, and religion. Its large population and vast history mark its economic and cultural importance.
While India’s civilization can be traced to the Harrapan era, that is, 1400 BCE, its modern political boundaries were established in 1947 when it gained independence from British rule. It is now a federal parliamentary democracy with 28 states and 8 union territories, with New Delhi as its capital. India has a democratic system with a multiparty political landscape, with the Indian National Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party being the two dominant national parties.
As one of the fastest-growing major economies, India is a global hub for technology, manufacturing, and services, while also being an agrarian powerhouse. It is a nuclear-armed state and plays a key role in regional and global geopolitics, maintaining strategic partnerships with various nations.
India is one of the most ethnically and religiously diverse countries in the world, home to multiple religions, sects, castes, and tribes. It has more than ten-thousand languages and hundreds of regional dialects, with Hindi and English serving as the two of the 22 official languages. Despite economic progress, India faces challenges such as poverty, unemployment, and environmental concerns, alongside managing its complex social fabric and regional disparities.
Modiji please get the hell out of Quad.
Let USA do whatever it wants about China. It is their insecurity not ours. We share a border with China and our forces can handle China by themselves.
Let us be non aligned and keep our bridges to old friend Russia and even China. We are more likely to develop economically by learning from Russia and China how to become self reliant. USA only wants our smart brains but treat Indians in India like dirt when we really needed help. Remember Trump’s retaliation remark on HCQ? And where is that Kamala Harris and her human rights niece – what a fake Kamala is , she used Indians by trying to get votes from Indian communities in USA.
Oh come on, we know US is trying hard for good PR now in India but the boat has sailed and Indians will remember this like we remember US Sanctions, Bangla war support to Pakistan and many more. QUAD seems to be a bad idea to me.
Just save this articles to yourself. I voted for Biden so that our people in India could get some help. But he blocked the material for two months straight. This is just rubbish. No wonder India will not be fully committed on QUAD. This is bad for United States and for America. I hope he doesn’t sanction India for purchase of S400. If he does it, we are done for good in South Asia.
The candor is worth the read.
The current administration has done exceptionally well in banning the raw materials for export. Unfortunately it had to revoke it within a week.
It is believed the ban on raw materials for idlis chittis and dosa would work on the same strategic scale. Alas administration is busy is looking at funeral pyres so is unable to snatch this strategic initiative causing strategic delay.
US lost most of the goodwill which Trump had built with India. Now Biden has to start all over again. Thanks to US politicians, bureaucrats and Pfizer.
QUAD reluctance on India behalf will be first causality.
