IIM (Amendment) Bill 2023 will amend 2017 act & appoint the President 'Visitor' of each IIM, giving govt final say in appointing chairperson of board of governors & director.
The bill proposes to appoint President of India as 'Visitor' of every IIM via insertion of new section in the principal Act. This will give central govt a say in decision-making of IIMs.
