Much needed step… Hope this gets implemented soon. It times when we are flying high on western influence this certainly bring us down to Earth and we would be able to Cherish our ancient heritage knowledge and wisdom. For millions of years India has been the land of advanced civilizations.
Sounds like a pet project of RSS. Ancient knowledge is ancient. Where is the need to validate it based on modern science? Does anyone try to validate Biblical episodes in this manner? Few years back, the head of ICHR had pronounced that the council will undertake research to prove the historicity of Mahabharata! No idea what happened to this grand proclaimation. Such harebrained projects will expose India’s historical research to ridicule.
Yeh toh achha hua that in 1947, an aristocratic, agnostic gentleman, straddling India and the West with ease, dropped by, with his vision for atomic energy, space research, higher education, a modern economy. It would have been so easy to lead a traditional society, emerging from two centuries of colonial rule, into a quagmire of superstition, myth,obscurantism.
