Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan chaired the GoM on Covid-19, but was missing at critical points, such as when cases in Delhi peaked, with Amit Shah stepping in to take action.
The active cases have declined to 4,59,920 comprising 1.50% of total infections and national recovery rate has improved to 97.18%, according to the health ministry data.
A total of 723 deaths were registered in a day, including 306 fatalities in Maharashtra, 76 from Kerala and 72 from Tamil Nadu. The number was the lowest in around 88 days.
