At least 50 people sustained injuries after a fire at a general store in the Shahganj Teli area of Bihar’s Aurangabad on Saturday, causing a gas cylinder & refrigerator to explode.
The fire, caused by a short-circuit, was extinguished and there was no loss of life due to effective and timely response, said Pakistan Army's media wing in a statement.
As per initial reports, a laptop in the court exploded. Fire officials received information about the blast Thursday morning, following which seven fire tenders were rushed to the spot.
Dhaka police ruled out foul play & said a faulty gas line or gas cylinders in a restaurant in the building believed to be the epicentre of the explosion could have caused the blast.
Banka police say it is not clear if the blast killed the Imam or whether he was buried alive in the debris of the mosque, which had been shut due to Covid.
Customs officials asked judicial authorities at least twice since 2014 to issue orders for the highly inflammable substance to be confiscated or re-exported.
The incident is said to have taken place in the Coastal Waste Management Project, a unit of Ramky Solvents, and is the third industrial accident to have occurred in Vizag since May.
