The Supreme Court judge, who is next in the line to become CJI, says if all cases of sexual abuse of children were to get reported, it would be "a mortifying shock".
The ECI needs to respond to Rahul Gandhi’s accusations professionally and transparently. Else, it will end up giving him the ammunition he is desperately seeking.
India’s industrial output growth saw a 10-month low in June, with Index of Industrial Production (IIP) growing by mere 1.5% as against 1.9% in May 2025.

Indeed Indian Judiciary needs complete overhauling, but what is most important is that recruitment of judges at every level should be fair, transparent and not based on favoritism or any such considerations. As the saying goes, one rotten apple is enough to spoil a basket of apples!

Justice Ranjan Gogoi did very well to utilise the book launch occasion of “Every Child Matters” a book penned down by Mr. Kailash
Satyarthi-a Nobel laureate up to the optimum extent to paint Indian polity in its true colours.
Justice Gogoi in his discourse remarked,”It is no secret that justice delivery system is begging for complete overhaul. But when will it come, it is any body’s guess !” He dwelt at length on terms- demographic dividend, democratic dividend, societal will and political will to usher in a bright era of optimism and advancement on the Indian scene in various walks of life !
But will lop-sided overhaul of one organ of democratic dividend serve the desired purpose, that is the vital question staring the polity in the face?
Justice Gogoi has raised many questions for all of us to ponder over very deeply !
Does the education system not require overhauling in toto so that it brims with quality and is affordable at the same time ? Is everything fine with the health care system of the nation? Is the economy of the nation moving on the right track ? Are the legislature and executive of India fine tuned to discharge their duties and responsibilities in a spirited manner? Where has the” nation above everything” spirit gone after more than seven decades of nation’s independence?
Alas ! Those at the helm of affairs of the nation at present very hopelessly lack the political will and are at their wits end to shape the destiny of India ! They only aim at winning elections harping on populist measures and fallacious campaign ! The opposition parties are gearing up to pose a challenge to the “politics of rhetorics and ploys” in 2019. In case their endeavours bear fruit in favour of change at the centre then their ” political will ” is certainly going to pass through a severe ordeal !
As of now, it for the societal will to rise to the occasion to pave way for the” new political will ” constraining it to come upto the expectations of the masses to make India- a developed nation ultimately a force to reckon within the world !
