Pay parity’ is so last century as a feminist slogan. What we should ask for is ‘price parity’. It’s as if the entire retail universe is rigged against us.
Standing up to America is usually not a personal risk for a leader in India. Any suggestions of foreign pressure unites India behind who they see as leading them in that fight.
All kudos to Ms.Sonali Ranade and Ms.Sheilja Sharma ‘s article on the concept of Demagoguery .
The authors have presented demagoguery in the perspective as well as in its true colours !
Recalling the comparative views of two celebrated thinkers of the world- Aristotle and Plato
pointing out their warnings against demagogues make the subject far more interesting and
topical in its discourse ! Their thoughts on demagoguery ironically are indeed eye-opening
and waking the natives from their deep slumber whereever demagoguery is the order of the
day in the world.
Our polity, in the past five years and at present too has very badly been a victim and in the grip
of demagoguery eating into the vitals and socio- democratic fabric of the nation ! Sooner we get
rid of it, better it will be for the health, betterment and well-being of the nation !
I do not see eye to eye with the title of the article ” What Modi’s India must learn from Aristotle
And Plato’s warning against demagogues ? ”
It is not Modi’s India but it is India’s INDIA belonging to all the Indians of all hues and thoughts-
“WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, ……….. ”
Big deal: The Brahmanas were the closest thing to Plato’s “Philosopher Kings” and were ousted, after thousands of years, by Islam, the British and the Rapeublic. Democracy is always a fragile and transient state. The immoderate espousal of PANGOLIN ism since 1947 has led to the reactionary demagoguery as the fount of fascism. This is natural process of oscillations leading to the sort of stasis (stability) achieved by Japan. or many nations of Western Europe. I commend you to the wisdom of Alexander Frazer Tytler, Lord Woodhouselee. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Fraser_Tytler,_Lord_Woodhouselee)
Note: PANGOLIN: An enemy of India who believes in inequality under law, exceptions to the rule of law and persecution of some for the benefit of others. At present, the sole purpose of the Indian Republic, Constitutional or otherwise, is to pamper and provide for certain constitutionally preferred sections of society who the British found useful to hold and exploit India at the cost of those who the British hated and persecuted. The Pangolin is a creature that is unique to India and feeds on ants that are known in nature to be industrious and hard working if not quite as fruitful as bees who flee to better climes. (PANGOLIN is an acronym for the Periyar-Ambedkar-Nehru-Gandhi-Other (alien) Religions-Communist Consensus that usurped the British Mantle and has worn it with elan to loot, plunder, and rape India since 1921 and re write History and laws to their exclusive benefit since 1947)

After reading this and other similar articles written by English educated Indians who have only read the western philosophers and have no or little idea about what this great country’s philosophers have to offer, come out with solutions they call them rational. Had these authors been taught the Indian Philosophy, their mind would have been working on solutions that make sense to Indian masses. I don’t know how long these people continue to pollute Indian discourse but they have done enough damage as English has been the language of rulers in India for a long time now. Essentially India had been ruled by slaves created by British. The major unrests in India is due to these slaves seeing powered slipped out of their hands to the children of the soil.
At the end of the reading of this article comes to mind a question was it necessary to go back to Plato and Aristotle to denounce the demagoguery?
Wait & watch ,hope good

India and USA are living examlples that Plato is correct. Its time for new form of govt. Democracy is too old for this century.
Trash. There is not much difference between fundamentalist Islamists quoting their book and the blogger quoting somebody from medivial age.
