Bureau of Energy Efficiency says even raising AC temperature by 1℃ can reduce power consumption by 6%. Any increase could therefore reflect in reduced electricity bills.
The Indian government must reform its model of state ownership of DISCOMs. A more market-driven approach will improve autonomy, and financial viability.
Pinarayi Vijayan once called Vellappally Natesan, the general secretary of SNDP Yogam, Kerala’s Pravin Togadia. Now he is giving his hate speech a free pass.

Islamabad-based think-tank PICSS's new report says Pakistan saw 'pronounced escalation' in violence last year, with 3,413 conflict-related deaths compared to 1,950 in previous year.
Many of you might think I got something so wrong in National Interest pieces written this year. I might disagree! But some deserve a Mea Culpa. I’d deal with the most recent this week.
I’m having trouble understanding why one of the biggest problems we’ve got contributing to high electricity, and the spread of virus and disease, is not being addressed at all.
The problem being apartment complexes that have roach in infestations, and have had a history of roach infestation, and do not follow central air protocol, for maintenance and sanitizing, leading to rips and tears in the air ducks, causing the PG and E to rise, do to the air escape. Also creating more condense bacteria, along with roach feces and debris, spitting out very bad bacteria spore., I’m not understanding why there are no laws to maintenance the A. C boxes and ducks, before renting places out, especially after infestations. Maintenance is recommended by the central air specialist, especially after an infestation, be a use of energy waste and the spread of viruses and disease.
So, what all the concern for, if you really wanted the energy crisis down, you’d pass some laws on maintaining those air ducks from rips and tears, rather then just ignoring a very bad situation, and one costing people alit of money in their energy bill, and not even aware of why.
I know this for a fact, be a use I was victim to it.
Excellent proposal by the government. Why would anyone need a below 20°C temperature for personal use ACs? For me, the ideal temperature is 25°C.
The government must go ahead with this proposal and implement it. No personal use AC should have the option of below 20°C temperatures.

Right decision

Stop use of AC in all centre govt offices & residential quarters of ministers & their cavalcades.
Would go a long way to save govt expense.
