War and Peace in Junglemahal: People, State and Maoists was seized from activist Vernon Gonsalves’ home during a raid last year in Elgar Parishad case.
For an industry globally classified as hazardous, protections such as health insurance and a provident fund for workers are necessities. In Sivakasi, they remain elusive.
The industry forecasts exports are set to grow 16% in 2025-26, boosted by surplus domestic production and a drive to push into 26 underserved global markets with strong potential.
Indigenisation level will progressively increase up to 60 percent with key sub-assemblies, electronics and mechanical parts being manufactured locally.
It is a brilliant, reasonably priced, and mostly homemade aircraft with a stellar safety record; only two crashes in 24 years since its first flight. But its crash is a moment of introspection.
The Hindu and The Indian Express, claim to have a standard of journalism that is higher than that of their competitors. The way they have presented the story shows them in very poor light. Either their reporters did know understand what was happening in the court, or they were blinded by their ideological bias.
The judge said he asked a question in order to gauge intent. Further, the judge even told the police that none of these books are banned. Major news outlets (e.g. Indian Express and The Hindu) falsified the story. Now you are still trying to give it legs when there is nothing much in the story.
The writer should not be focusing on the question asked by judge on why he was keeping war and peace by Leo Tolstoy. In fact, judge told later that he knows about the classic. What is important is to question Gonsalves keeping certain incriminating documents and CDs which focus on fighting against the state. You writers in the name of freedom of expression think that everything is fine. But understand, many doctrines are created that way in certain schools which provoke students go against the govt. What is called responsibility is missing in Gonsalves and also in your writing.
What’s wrong in questioning the stupidity of the judge, who presides over the life and death of several people? Why is he off-limits?
Where’s the responsibility of the government in fulfilling basic obligations towards its people?
How are the suppressed people to act, when their pleas for help go unheeded by the successive governments for decades? Do you suggest that they just lie down and die?
You have every right to question as much I have. The question is whether to support naxalism or not. You may chose to support naxalism in the name of freedom of expression and if found illegal, law will take its own course. I was only commenting on the media and writers keep on focusing one remark from judge and he asked a question. There are so many such stupid questions during Ram Janmabhoomi hearing. If we think, the judge should not ask question and call him stupid. Well that is your opinion.
What exactly was his stupidity? The stupidity in fact is of people like Jairam Ramesh, Prashant Bhushan etc, who in trying to show off their knowledge, of Leo Tolstoy’s book, ended up displaying their ignorance of Bishwajit Roy’s book.
Spoken like an educated man.
Most of us are “qualified”, holding BA, MA, Phds – but not ‘educated’ which has wider connotations.
Acceptance of views contradictory to mine, accommodation of opinions contrary to the ones held by me, inclusiveness of attributes which are different from those that I hold appropriate OR expressions which are not in consonance with my religious, political, linguistic or regional beliefs are AGGRESSIVELY and BELLIGERENTLLY attacked. Vigilantism in the garb of Patriotism has become the order of the day.
Let the writings and literature of reason rot in the library, or worse – locked up in Police Station as inflammatory material.
You are right Sir !!! Very sorry state of affairs, indeed ! As they say “Those who control the narratives rule the world” …..go against it, you will face wrath !
My 2 cents,
