Chetan Bhagat tweets screenshot of Ira Trivedi’s email as proof she continued speaking to him in affectionate terms, 3 years after he allegedly harassed her.
The only mantra to fight woke misogyny right now is in three words, “I believe you”, and to provide pro bono legal support to victims of professors on the list.
The Southeast Asian theatre is central to the Great Power contest between the US and China. It’s also a landscape where middle powers—France, the UK, Turkey—are shaping the strategic environment.
Mini deal will likely see no cut in 10% baseline tariff on Indian exports announced by Trump on 2 April, it is learnt, but additional 26% tariffs are set to be reduced.
Capable of being fired in plain and high-altitude areas, it has day-and-night capability and two-way data link to support post-launch target, aim-point update.
Public, loud, upfront, filled with impropriety and high praise sometimes laced with insults. This is what we call Trumplomacy. But the larger objective is the same: American supremacy.

when previllaged elites from dynastic base challenges a seemingly selfless hard woking self made man, the out come does not require a rocket scientist to determine!
Sensitive ….. hun? Just five years of new regime and the liberal distress is so acute?
I personally like your style, your language and the information in your article Kaveree, even if I don’t agree with your message.
I also have the same question as the other reader: Since when Arundhati has become our conscience keeper? That’s a joke!
Nevertheless, the ancien regime had 70 years to seed these institutions and places. Five years are too short for Modi-Shah to undo it. They have changed only the leaves, old roots are still there. Will take time.
I am sure of one thing that in Modi rule Lutyens and Khan Market gangs (whoever they may be) have to learn making a living the way ordinary Indians do. No longer they can use the tactics they used during Congress rule and made huge money by siting in air conditioned houses. They can scold or weep but they have to become gentlepersons now otherwise they are free to leave India and live any where in the world. People don’t give a dam to their complaints now.
Kaveree- if you have a problem, take a hike. When millions of voters voted for Modi in 2014, it was for change & then voted again in 2019, it’s because they like him. Fact is you can’t digest the glory old days of getting attention & pamper all the time.
The unseen, understated, unheralded and underestimated cabal that controlled the entire edifice of the nation state was assiduously created, nurtured and fattenedby the Royal Court, strikingly similar to the feudal age. This ecosystem was self sufficient, self sustaining and zealously selfish. It comprised bureaucracy, legal eagles, academics, historians, moneybags, wheeler dealers besides the ubiquitous Gandhi cap wearing politician, not to mention the court jesters and clowns. Any dirty work was outsourced to the pliable police force and/or underworld. This cozy club ran on your scratch my back, I scratch yours. Hence a win win situation.
Enter a ‘trespasser’ chaiwala. Complete antithesis to the Royal Court and its loyal subjects. The omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent Cabal got anxious then felt threatened and now their worst fears are coming true. The shrillness and inconceivable language is directly proportional to the hammering a person has received with the advent of BJP. The vitriol and abuse is proof of the enormous loss and the unraveling of a tsunami of skeletons tumbling out of the cupboard.
Lastly, one can speculate that the moment the Royal Court is wounded, this edifice is set to crumble.
WOW!! Great response to a whining, entitled, elitist and pretentious (pretending to be egalitarian) group of people who were more no less than termites and opportunistic scavengers.
Ha, but it is not rue! The Lutyens’ syndrome continues unabated. The Amartya Sens and Arundhati Roys, not to mention the self=styled senior journalists”, continue to rule the roost and play at the court of the corrupt relics of the dynasty and their cronies in the “secular” parties and media.
Very well described Elites…. But eliteness in corporate and media is totally different…. While corporates always find easy route due to money power but Elite in media and particularly English Speaking media whether Print or Electronic, who were propogated by regimes in order to increase their personal TRPs has found no place in Modi’s India and maybe Arnab is an aberration….. Editors on the PM’s entourage having five star facilities including imported liquor has rattled these Khan Market Gang members not having inside wrangling of the seat of power in order to sensationalize the news…. If you go by the writings/ tweets by these Khan Market Gang, these people still have not understood the mood of the people and don’t want to come out of their cocoons…. One of the tweet I quote here is during Indo Pak World Cup match where these members of Khan Market Gang tweeted is “Let the best team win” whereas in all other matches these same Gang members always greeting their own Indian team to win….. Why there Aman ki Asha media personalities not gauge the mood as well as the interests of the country….. And moreover for only this reason these Gang members could not gauge the mood of the country before election results and also gave feedback to their peers Khongress that Modi is ceeding the ground and there may be a coalition Govt again and delusionary Pappu will become PM ……
When one falls on hard days, have to switch to drinking Indian whiskey, promise to read my first Chetan Bhagat novel. 2. All over the world, elites represent excellence; over time, class as well. And they strive to take national achievement to the next level, to raise its place and profile in the rest of the world. That will not change.
