The city of Patna cannot afford to invest enough in its infrastructure to deal with normal demands made upon it, much less the exceptional rainfall that was dumped upon it. After making due allowance for these mitigating factors, CM Nitish Kumar’s response is unworthy of an administrator of his stature. He was equally dismissive of the horror and tragedy of the Muzaffarpur shelter homes case. Perhaps he needs to look within, ask himself why he is still at the crease. The magic of the wrists is long gone.
